Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality English lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and promote student achievement.
• Support students in developing strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver engaging, concept-focused lessons and enrichment activities.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback to support learning and growth.
• Contribute to the development of the English department and its curriculum across Key Stages.
• Participate in staff development, professional learning, and school-wide initiatives.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment for all students.
• Support the school’s mission by promoting a culture of lifelong learning and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience teaching GCSE English.
• A degree in a related subject and a PGCE/PGDE or equivalent with strong subject knowledge.
• Demonstrated track record of outstanding teaching and learning.
• Commitment to student success and the belief that all students can achieve top performance.
• Ability to contribute to a rich and diverse curriculum programme.

Preferred

• Experience teaching A Level or IB English.
• Familiarity with the IB English Language and Literature course.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Experience in curriculum development and enrichment programmes.
