Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the curriculum and school standards.
  • Prepare, apply, and develop engaging and effective lesson resources with the support of department leaders.
  • Manage and motivate students in a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with support staff and colleagues to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the English department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure they achieve their full potential.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent evidence for overseas-trained teachers.
  • Proven experience in teaching English at the appropriate level.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering innovative teaching resources.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Experience in a school undergoing transformation or improvement.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar qualifications.
