The Opportunity:

An English Teacher is needed to inspire and educate students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5. This role offers the chance to work in a well-resourced and supportive curriculum area, making a meaningful impact on students' learning and future aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English to students across Key Stage 3, 4, and potentially 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and learning outcomes.
  • Support students in achieving their academic potential through individualized feedback and targeted interventions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the English department.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development programme to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular assessments to ensure learning objectives are met.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Engage with parents and carers to support student learning and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching English.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Experience in teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 English.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Key Stage 5 English.
  • Familiarity with the use of digital tools in the classroom.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and pastoral support.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
