Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons at Key Stage 4 and support Key Stage 5 and 3 through the Literacy for Life team.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential through engaging and innovative teaching methods.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Utilise technology to enhance learning and create interactive and dynamic classroom experiences.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the ongoing growth of the school.
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Engage with employer partners to provide students with relevant work experiences and career insights.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience teaching English across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • A proven track record of being a consistently good or outstanding teacher.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • High expectations of learning and student achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to raising standards and continuous professional development.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading initiatives and demonstrating impact within a school setting.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Background in working within a UTC or similar educational environment.
  • Experience in developing and delivering work-focused projects in partnership with industry professionals.
