Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and challenge students to reach their full potential.
  • Support students in achieving outstanding results at Key Stages 4 and 5 through innovative teaching and effective assessment strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement subject initiatives that enhance student achievement and progress.
  • Lead and mentor other teachers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous professional development.
  • Contribute to the school’s vision by promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities that enrich the student experience.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning through ongoing reflection, professional development, and feedback.
  • Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all students within the classroom and beyond.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A high-quality degree in English
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven track record of outstanding teaching at Key Stages 4 and 5
  • Strong ability to inspire and engage students through effective teaching methods
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and the delivery of high standards of education
  • Experience in leading and mentoring other teachers

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum for England
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Experience in a multicultural and international educational environment
  • A passion for professional development and innovation in teaching
