The Opportunity:

As a PE Teacher - Outdoor and Adventurous Activities Lead, you will deliver high-quality Physical Education across all key stages and lead outdoor and adventurous activities that align with the school’s ecological vision. This role is central to inspiring students to lead healthy, active lifestyles while developing resilience, teamwork, and a profound respect for the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Physical Education lessons to students across KS1–KS4.
  • Lead and develop the Outdoor and Adventurous Activities (OAA) programme, incorporating experiential learning and ecological principles.
  • Oversee and deliver the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, ensuring students gain valuable life skills and experiences.
  • Contribute to a thriving extra-curricular programme, including coaching Primary and Secondary sports teams and supporting competitions and fixtures.
  • Support the school’s sustainability ethos by integrating environmental and ecological themes into teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s enrichment and sport programme, promoting inclusivity and participation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Native-level English language skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field, with a PGCE in Education with QTS or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Physical Education in the UK or a reputable British school overseas.
  • Proven ability to create a caring, nurturing classroom environment and deliver outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching athletics, netball, and cheerleading.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in outdoor and adventurous activities.
  • Familiarity with project-based and experiential learning approaches.
