Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the secondary PE curriculum.
• Inspire and motivate students through innovative and engaging physical education programs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education with other areas of learning.
• Support and mentor junior PE teachers and assist in the professional development of staff.
• Monitor student progress and ensure alignment with the school’s educational goals and standards.
• Organize and manage extracurricular sports and physical activity programs.
• Promote a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and healthy competition among students.
• Ensure the safe and effective use of school facilities and equipment related to PE.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A Bachelor of Education or PGCE with a degree in the subject area.
• Proven experience in teaching PE at the secondary level.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and engage students.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

Preferred

• Experience in leading a PE department or team.
• Background in sports coaching or competitive athletics.
• Knowledge of sports science or physical education theory.
• Experience with extracurricular sports programs and events.
