The Opportunity:
As Estates Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the school’s diverse estate, including historic buildings, modern facilities, and expansive grounds. This role is essential in supporting the school’s mission and ensuring a safe, secure, and inspiring environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the maintenance, development, and operation of the school’s extensive estate.
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance and grounds operatives.
- Ensure all buildings, grounds, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, security, and functionality.
- Coordinate repairs, renovations, and improvements to support the school’s educational and extracurricular needs.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align estate management with the school’s strategic goals.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Develop and implement efficient systems for managing the estate and its resources.
- Collaborate with other departments to support events, performances, and school activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in estates management or facilities management within an educational setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of building maintenance, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with managing large-scale estate operations, including historic and modern buildings.
- Familiarity with educational facilities and the specific needs of schools.
- Knowledge of theatre and performance spaces, including sound, lighting, and stage management.
- Experience in budget management and procurement processes.
- Understanding of Catholic values and educational principles.
