The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at a new SEND Secondary School. This is an exciting opportunity to support students aged 11-16 with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs. You will play a key role in delivering a tailored, high-quality curriculum that meets individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Class Teacher with the day-to-day running of the class and deliver whole-class, group, and individual lessons.
  • Lead in the absence of Class Teachers across the school.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver teaching and learning activities, adapting them as necessary.
  • Monitor pupil behaviour and intervene to resolve complex or challenging issues.
  • Provide meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships, and attitudes.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans, including attendance at reviews if requested.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and English qualification (Grade 4 or equivalent).
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification.
  • Previous experience in a relevant SEND provision.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
  • Experience managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing challenging behaviour.

Preferred

  • Experience working within education.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, inclusive setting.
