The Opportunity:

As a Percussion Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the musical talents of students at a school with a strong and vibrant Music Department. You will be responsible for teaching orchestral tuned percussion and drum kit, contributing to the school’s commitment to excellence in music education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach orchestral tuned percussion and drum kit to students of all abilities.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire a love of music.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Music Department to enhance the school’s music program.
  • Support students in developing their technical and performance skills.
  • Participate in the school’s co-curricular activities and events.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Prepare and assess students in line with the school’s academic and musical standards.
  • Stay up to date with developments in music education and pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified music teacher with experience in percussion instruction.
  • Strong knowledge of orchestral tuned percussion and drum kit techniques.
  • Ability to teach students of varying skill levels.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Experience with music performance and ensemble work.
  • Familiarity with music technology and digital teaching tools.
  • Passion for fostering creativity and musical expression in students.
