Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist students in developing confidence, self-belief, and independence through personalized guidance and encouragement.
  • Promote positive behavior and personal development, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage exploration of learning beyond the classroom, supporting students in achieving academic and personal goals.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive.
  • Adapt learning activities creatively to meet diverse student needs and interests.
  • Celebrate student progress and achievements, reinforcing motivation and engagement.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, fostering resilience and a love of learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and English qualification (minimum functional skills Level 2).
  • Proactive and flexible mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Commitment to promoting independence, positive behavior, and personal development.
  • Willingness to undertake training opportunities such as the L2 award in supporting teaching and learning in schools.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a teaching assistant or similar role, particularly within SEND settings.
  • Experience with supporting students with autism or sensory processing needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
