The Opportunity:
As an Estates Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the school’s facilities, ensuring a safe and functional environment for learners and staff. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the school’s mission while working in a supportive and inclusive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the onsite team with routine and emergency maintenance, minor modifications, and refurbishment.
- Assist in completing planned maintenance programs and minor improvement projects in a timely manner.
- Carry out basic DIY and general repair work as required.
- Ensure all work meets legislative requirements and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Estates Team Leader to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Keep records and reports of completed work and maintenance schedules.
- Contribute to the overall improvement of the school’s physical environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in general building maintenance or a relevant qualification.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of DIY and repair techniques.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
Preferred
- Experience in facilities management or a related field.
- Familiarity with maintenance software or record-keeping systems.
- Understanding of legislative requirements for building maintenance.
- Experience with project management or coordination of small-scale refurbishment projects.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £24,840 to £25,230 per annum (pro-rata for part-time roles).
