The Opportunity:

As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth administration of both internal and external examinations. This is a vital position that supports the academic journey of students and upholds the school’s commitment to excellence in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the administration of internal and external examinations in line with awarding body regulations.
  • Supervise and support a team of invigilation staff to ensure all exams are conducted efficiently and securely.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to examinations and invigilation procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to address any examination-related queries or concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols during exam periods.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of examination schedules and materials.
  • Provide support during high-pressure examination seasons, including evenings and weekends if required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of exams.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications at Level 3 (A Levels or equivalent), including GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience of working within an educational setting.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience of managing a team of staff.
  • Proficiency in the use of ICT systems and software.

Preferred

  • Experience in exam administration or invigilation.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of examination regulations and procedures.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours during exam periods.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate of £16.35 per hour.
  • Annualised part-time working hours with 37 hours per week.
