Summary:

Family Support Worker needed at a school. Support students and families with wellbeing and learning.

The Opportunity:

As a Family Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students and families, ensuring positive wellbeing and attendance. You will be a vital link between home and school, working closely with staff and external agencies to help every child thrive. This is a fixed-term role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students and families with wellbeing, attendance, and learning outcomes.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families and provide practical advice and guidance.
  • Work closely with school staff, external agencies, and community partners.
  • Conduct home visits and manage a caseload of families effectively.
  • Ensure safeguarding standards are upheld and maintain accurate, confidential records.
  • Contribute to the development of the department and support the school's mission.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Uphold the school's values and promote a positive, inclusive culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites within the school trust.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and maintain accurate records.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with children and families in a school or community setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and wellbeing practices.
  • Experience in supporting attendance and behaviour management.
  • Familiarity with multi-agency working and partnership development.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational environment.
