The Opportunity:

As the Head of Computer Science, you will lead a dynamic department and inspire students with innovative and inclusive teaching. You will play a key role in shaping the future of Computer Science education at a school committed to excellence, technology, and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Computer Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging and contemporary Computer Science lessons up to and including Key Stage 5.
  • Motivate and support both students and colleagues, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate technology across the curriculum.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Computer Science and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all students within the department.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to shape the strategic direction of the department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Computer Science, ideally up to Key Stage 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Familiarity with cutting-edge technology and its application in education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation in teaching methods.
  • Strong track record in professional development and staff mentoring.
