The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to help maintain the cleanliness and safety of our school buildings and facilities. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, responsible, and keen to contribute to a welcoming and safe environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain classrooms, staff accommodation, and public areas to a high standard.
  • Conduct deep cleaning of dormitories, offices, and classrooms during school holidays.
  • Report incidents, accidents, theft, or damage to supervisors promptly.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure all areas are kept tidy and safe.
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist with the maintenance of sports facilities and other school buildings.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience in a cleaning role or willingness to learn and train.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a clean, tidy work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work term time only with some weekend hours.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Good communication skills.
