The Opportunity:
As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s financial operations and statutory requirements. This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise in a dynamic and impactful educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the school’s financial reporting and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Director of Finance & Resources in fulfilling responsibilities to the Charity Commission and during the yearly statutory audit.
- Oversee the management accounting processes and ensure accurate and timely financial records.
- Assist in the implementation and use of the i-finance accountancy package.
- Collaborate with the finance team to maintain accurate budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the finance function across the academic year.
- Maintain a high standard of financial control and internal audit procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
- Proven experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Experience working in an educational setting.
- Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to working throughout the academic year.
Preferred
- Experience with the i-finance accountancy package.
- Understanding of the requirements of the Charity Commission.
- Experience in a small team environment.
- Knowledge of Common Entrance syllabus or similar academic standards.
