Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Geography and Travel & Tourism lessons that are engaging, challenging, and aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student achievement and personal growth.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the curriculum.
  • Provide individualized support to students, including those with special educational needs and those for whom English is an additional language.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, using data to inform teaching and learning.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Geography and Travel & Tourism.
  • Experience in teaching at the secondary level (11-16).
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take responsibility for student progress.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with English as an additional language.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and support for students with special educational needs.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
