Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons that meet curriculum requirements and support student progress.
  • Manage a classroom effectively, promoting positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to engage and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Support individual learning needs and provide targeted interventions where necessary.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, ensuring consistent improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school and trust to share best practices and improve teaching standards.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Maintain accurate records of student work and progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
  • Experience in delivering Geography at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE)
  • Understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and classroom management
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of students

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching at Key Stage 5 (A-Level)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative setting
