A school is seeking a Geography Teacher to join its Humanities department and support Key Stage 4 students in developing a deep understanding of geographical concepts. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Geography lessons that meet curriculum requirements and inspire student interest.
  • Support Key Stage 4 students in developing their knowledge and skills in Geography.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and respect.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure all learners achieve their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with current geographical issues and incorporate relevant content into lessons.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant academic qualification in Geography or a related field (degree or equivalent).
  • A strong interest in Geography and enthusiasm for teaching the subject at Key Stage 4 level.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Geography at Key Stage 4 level.
  • Experience with continuous professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Experience in promoting inclusivity, respect, and diversity in the classroom.
  • Experience with creative teaching methods that inspire student interest in Geography.
