The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Geography Teacher to join our Social Sciences department and inspire students in Key Stage 4 education. This role offers a supportive environment for new teachers and those looking to grow their skills in secondary education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging geography lessons that align with Key Stage 4 curriculum standards
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support learning
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and events
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance student learning and development
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Stay up to date with curriculum changes and best practices in geography education
  • Support students in developing a deeper understanding of geographical concepts and their real-world applications
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Geography curriculum

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong interest in Geography with relevant academic qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students aged 14-16
  • Good organisational skills and ability to plan lessons according to curriculum requirements
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and develop professionally as part of a supportive team

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching Geography at Key Stage 4 level
  • Basic understanding of Key Stage 4 curriculum standards
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices and classroom management
  • Previous experience in a school setting or related field
