The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Geography Teacher to join our Social Sciences department and inspire students in Key Stage 4 education. This role offers a supportive environment for new teachers and those looking to grow their skills in secondary education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging geography lessons that align with Key Stage 4 curriculum standards
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support learning
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and events
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance student learning and development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Stay up to date with curriculum changes and best practices in geography education
- Support students in developing a deeper understanding of geographical concepts and their real-world applications
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Geography curriculum
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong interest in Geography with relevant academic qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with students aged 14-16
- Good organisational skills and ability to plan lessons according to curriculum requirements
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and develop professionally as part of a supportive team
Preferred
- Experience with teaching Geography at Key Stage 4 level
- Basic understanding of Key Stage 4 curriculum standards
- Experience with inclusive teaching practices and classroom management
- Previous experience in a school setting or related field
