The Opportunity:
A Senior Registered Nurse is needed to provide high-quality healthcare and first aid services to the school community. This role is ideal for a dedicated and experienced nurse who thrives in a collaborative, student-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinically effective, high-quality nursing care to pupils and first aid care to all members of the school community.
- Lead the Medical Centre and Medical Team three days per week, ensuring a seamless and efficient service.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Registered Nurse in a job share arrangement, ensuring clear communication and handover.
- Work in partnership with the Deputy Head – Pastoral to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of students.
- Support the school’s mission by delivering care that is both compassionate and professional.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and school policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all students under care.
- Provide guidance and support to students, staff, and parents on health-related matters.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Senior Registered Nurse qualification with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a school or similar healthcare environment.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a medical centre.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in providing first aid and emergency care.
Preferred
- Experience in a job share or shared role.
- Experience in managing a team of healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
- Experience with health promotion and wellbeing initiatives in an educational setting.
