The Opportunity:

A Senior Registered Nurse is needed to provide high-quality healthcare and first aid services to the school community. This role is ideal for a dedicated and experienced nurse who thrives in a collaborative, student-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinically effective, high-quality nursing care to pupils and first aid care to all members of the school community.
  • Lead the Medical Centre and Medical Team three days per week, ensuring a seamless and efficient service.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Registered Nurse in a job share arrangement, ensuring clear communication and handover.
  • Work in partnership with the Deputy Head – Pastoral to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of students.
  • Support the school’s mission by delivering care that is both compassionate and professional.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and school policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all students under care.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, staff, and parents on health-related matters.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Senior Registered Nurse qualification with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a school or similar healthcare environment.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a medical centre.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in providing first aid and emergency care.

Preferred

  • Experience in a job share or shared role.
  • Experience in managing a team of healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
  • Experience with health promotion and wellbeing initiatives in an educational setting.
