Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Geography to students across the full age and ability range.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote progression and achievement.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline through effective classroom management.
- Use a range of teaching methods, including ICT, to keep students engaged and motivated.
- Assess and monitor student progress through regular feedback and targeted interventions.
- Develop and update schemes of work that align with curriculum requirements.
- Prepare and present reports to parents in line with statutory requirements.
- Support students with special educational needs by implementing Individual Education Plans.
- Evaluate and improve teaching practices through reflective practice and professional development.
- Contribute to faculty meetings, progress evenings, and wider school activities.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of a form tutor and support student well-being.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Geography.
- Experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
- Commitment to student progress and assessment for learning.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching Geography at Key Stage 5.
- Familiarity with inclusive education practices and support for students with special educational needs.
- Experience in developing and delivering cross-curricular activities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues and parents.
