The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that support student progression and achievement.
- Set high expectations for student behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including ICT, to keep students motivated and engaged.
- Assess student work effectively and provide constructive feedback to support learning.
- Develop and update schemes of work across all Key Stages to ensure a high-quality curriculum.
- Prepare and present reports to parents in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Implement and maintain Individual Education Plans for students with special educational needs.
- Evaluate and improve teaching practices through self-reflection and professional development.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, progress evenings, and faculty improvement initiatives.
- Fulfill the responsibilities of a form tutor, supporting student well-being and development.
- Contribute to wider curricular activities and school events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and statutory assessment requirements.
- Ability to plan and deliver effective lessons that promote student progress.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equality in education.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching students across a range of abilities.
- Familiarity with Special Educational Needs and the Code of Practice.
- Experience in developing and evaluating schemes of work.
- Background in form tutoring or pastoral care.
- Experience with using ICT in the classroom.
