The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a dynamic team and contribute to the continued success of a rapidly improving school. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on student outcomes and support the development of the English department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, tailored to the needs of all students.
  • Support the Curriculum Area Leader of English in developing and maintaining the department’s standards and outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and interventions where needed.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the English curriculum, ensuring alignment with school and departmental goals.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Support the wider school community through extra-curricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching English.
  • Experience of teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English teaching.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take on leadership responsibilities.
  • Commitment to student progress and high standards of teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience of leading or supporting curriculum development.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience of working in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
