Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality mathematics instruction across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver engaging, evidence-based lessons
- Support student progress through targeted interventions and formative assessment
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to the wider school community through pastoral and extracurricular activities
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and best practices in mathematics education
- Provide mentorship and guidance to early career teachers where appropriate
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or the ability to obtain it by September 2026
- Proven experience teaching mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Ability to teach Key Stage 5 mathematics
- Strong understanding of effective teaching strategies and student engagement
- Commitment to fostering positive relationships with students and colleagues
- Experience in collaborative planning and team working
Preferred
- Experience with evidence-based CPD and continuous professional development
- Leadership or mentoring experience
- Experience in curriculum development or assessment design
- Familiarity with teaching English as a second language (ESL)
- Experience with technology-enhanced learning and digital resources
