The Opportunity:

As a German Teacher - Junior School, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of young learners. You will deliver engaging and challenging lessons that foster a love of language and learning, while supporting the school’s commitment to international-mindedness and inquiry-based learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality German lessons tailored to the needs of junior school students.
  • Develop and implement engaging, student-centered learning experiences aligned with the IB framework.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s mission and enhance cross-curricular learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure outstanding learning outcomes.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and students to support individual learning needs.
  • Participate in school events and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and reflection.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelors degree in German Language or similar, with a PGCE in Education with QTS or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience teaching in a reputable school.
  • Experience in IB or GCSE subject-specific teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve outstanding student results.
  • Proficient/advanced-level English language skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience with the IB programme.
  • Knowledge of assessment strategies and their use in the classroom.
  • Inter-cultural awareness and enthusiasm for working with diverse communities.
