The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of A Level English to lead and teach within a successful and supportive department. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the teaching and development of A-level English (Language, Literature, and Language & Literature).
- Deliver high-quality lessons in A-level English Language and support teaching in another key stage.
- Work closely with the Head of Department to ensure the continued success of the English team.
- Monitor and support student progress, providing targeted interventions where necessary.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Contribute to the wider curriculum and school initiatives.
- Support the pastoral and spiritual development of students in line with the school’s values.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in A-level English teaching.
- Proven leadership experience within a department or subject team.
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
- Experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning at A-level.
- Commitment to student progress and attainment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or subject team.
- Familiarity with Church of England values and ethos.
- Experience in pastoral care and spiritual development.
- Experience in a large, successful school environment.
- Strong track record in improving student outcomes and attainment.
