Summary:

The Opportunity:

As a SEND Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality support to learners with special educational needs or disabilities. You will contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment that enables students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted support to learners with SEND, both individually and in small groups.
  • Develop and implement strategies to overcome learning barriers and promote student success.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure a consistent and effective learning experience for all students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to support their development.
  • Promote the holistic wellbeing of students, ensuring their physical, emotional, and academic needs are met.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Support the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good general education to at least level 3 and Maths and English to at least level 2.
  • A Level 2 Learning Support qualification or willingness to achieve it in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting learners with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • Understanding of strategies to overcome learning barriers and support student progress.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering support sessions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and curriculum design.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
