The Opportunity:

As the Head of Academic Support, you will lead a dedicated team in providing tailored support to students who require additional help with the academic curriculum. This role is essential in ensuring that all students have the tools and resources needed to succeed, regardless of their learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Academic Support Department to ensure effective delivery of support services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify, monitor, and support students with academic challenges.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to provide targeted interventions and support for students.
  • Oversee the training and professional development of academic support staff.
  • Ensure that all students receive equitable and inclusive academic support.
  • Work closely with parents and external agencies to support student progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of academic support programs.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and initiatives related to student support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an academic or educational setting.
  • Extensive experience in academic support, including working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum requirements and support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or educational institution.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and special educational needs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing academic support programs.
  • Strong understanding of assessment and monitoring techniques for student progress.
