As the Head of Art, you will lead a dynamic and creative department, inspiring students across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Art department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and inspiring art lessons that motivate students and foster creativity.
  • Monitor and analyse student progress and performance data to inform curriculum planning and interventions.
  • Support staff professional development and provide leadership within the department.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning and student outcomes.
  • Manage resources, timetables, and departmental budgets effectively.
  • Promote the school’s values and ethos through teaching and leadership.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the development of the school’s vision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Art at KS3, GCSE, and A-Level.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a department effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Experience in curriculum planning, data analysis, and action planning.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for art education.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Background in educational research or professional development.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and creative learning approaches.
  • Familiarity with the latest art technologies and resources.
