The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Biology to lead a thriving Science department. This role offers the chance to shape the future of Science education and inspire students to achieve excellence in Biology up to A Level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Biology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
• Deliver Biology lessons to students at all levels, up to A Level.
• Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support student progress.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff within the Science team.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, including science competitions and Olympiads.
• Support outreach initiatives and community engagement efforts.
• Maintain and manage laboratory facilities and equipment to the highest standard.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in Biology at A Level.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Commitment to Catholic education and Benedictine values.
• Experience in a school environment, preferably in a senior role.

Preferred

• Experience in a large, high-performing Science department.
• Familiarity with modern Science facilities and equipment.
• Track record of academic success and student achievement.
• Involvement in science competitions or Olympiads.
• Experience in curriculum development and staff training.
