The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Sports Pastoral Officer - Rugby to join our dynamic Games Department. This role will focus on developing the rugby programme through coaching, mentoring, and supporting athletes. It is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career in sports coaching or player development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver technical coaching sessions for rugby players.
- Provide 1:1 mentoring and support to athletes to enhance performance and personal development.
- Conduct video analysis to review and improve player and team performance.
- Assist with pastoral duties in the boarding houses and around the College.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support the needs of students and the rugby programme.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for all students.
- Promote the school’s sporting values and Benedictine principles through daily interactions and activities.
- Support the development of junior athletes and contribute to long-term player pathway planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A graduate with a particular interest in rugby.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students of all ages and backgrounds.
- Commitment to the values of the school, including Benedictine principles and Catholic education.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in sports coaching or player development.
- Previous experience working in a school or boarding environment.
- Knowledge of rugby coaching techniques and strategies.
- Ability to contribute to the pastoral care of students.
- Experience with video analysis or performance review tools.
