Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business and Economics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Develop and implement curriculum strategies aligned with IGCSE, A Level, and equivalent standards.
  • Support and mentor teachers to enhance classroom practice and professional development.
  • Oversee assessment and data-informed strategies to drive continuous improvement in student performance.
  • Promote a culture of sustainability and innovation across the department and school.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including parents, students, and colleagues, to enhance the learning experience.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and integrate technology to improve teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives and leadership development programmes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A B.Ed or subject-related degree with a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Business and Economics at secondary level, including IGCSE and A Level or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Head of Department or readiness to step into a leadership role.
  • Strong classroom practice and the ability to model and share best practices.
  • Ability to lead curriculum development and data-informed improvement strategies.
  • Commitment to raising achievement and standards in Business and Economics.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and IT skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leadership development and professional growth.
  • Interest in sustainability in education.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
