The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Business Studies and Economics Teacher to join our dedicated team. This role is central to shaping a dynamic and innovative curriculum that empowers students to think critically and engage with the world around them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Business Studies and Economics across the senior school, with experience in IB MYP, DP, and IGCSE being highly valued.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement concept-based units of inquiry with authentic assessment tasks.
- Engage students at all levels through differentiated instruction and a constructivist approach to learning.
- Promote international-mindedness, service learning, and a deep connection with the real world.
- Support the development of a vibrant school community through teamwork and collaboration.
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills and a commitment to high standards in all aspects of teaching and learning.
- Be visible, approachable, and flexible, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Teach additional subjects as required, based on departmental needs and candidate expertise.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in teaching Business Studies and Economics across the senior school.
- Strong understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy and curriculum framework.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field with a teaching qualification.
- Relevant international teaching experience.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written).
Preferred
- Experience with IB MYP and DP, and IGCSE.
- Experience or openness to teaching an additional, related subject.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with current educational research.
- Ability to inspire, challenge, and empower students.
- Creativity, compassion, and a strong desire to make a difference in students’ learning.
