Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Design and implement concept-based units of inquiry aligned with the IB MYP, DP, and IGCSE curricula.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop authentic assessment tasks and support student learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students across all ability levels.
• Foster a constructivist approach to learning that promotes student autonomy and engagement.
• Promote international-mindedness and service learning through curriculum and extracurricular activities.
• Support the professional development of the English team and contribute to the wider school community.
• Teach English and potentially other related subjects as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience teaching English across the senior school, with IB MYP and DP experience.
• Strong understanding of the IB philosophy and curriculum framework.
• A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field with a valid teaching qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with a positive and approachable attitude.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).

Preferred

• Experience with IGCSE or other international curricula.
• Experience teaching additional subjects such as EAL, TOK, or Humanities.
• Familiarity with constructivist and inquiry-based teaching approaches.
