The Opportunity:
The Head of Computing Department will lead the computing department, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire a love of learning and challenge all students to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the computing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging, and impactful lessons.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages deep thinking, engagement, and challenge for all students.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support learning and development.
- Contribute to the school’s extracurricular life by leading or supporting activities that enrich the student experience.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Ensure alignment with the school’s values and motto: "Everyone counts, everyone contributes, everyone succeeds."
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of an inclusive student community.
- Collaborate with colleagues to drive innovation and excellence in computing education.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor of Education or PGCE with appropriate specialism in computing or related field.
- Proven experience teaching in a UK-based or international school following a British curriculum.
- Demonstrated passion for teaching and a commitment to inspiring and challenging all learners.
- Strong subject knowledge in computing and the ability to design effective, engaging lessons.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively in a dynamic school environment.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role within a computing department.
- Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methodologies and technologies.
