The Opportunity:

As the Head of Design Technology, you will lead the development and delivery of a high-quality Design Technology curriculum, inspiring students to excel academically and creatively. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of the school's enriched curriculum and student experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Design Technology department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the National Curriculum for England and supports student progression to A Level.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the enriched curriculum and student engagement.
• Mentor and support teaching staff to achieve outstanding learning outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate student performance, providing targeted support where needed.
• Represent the school at relevant events and contribute to the wider educational community.
• Ensure the safe and effective use of resources and facilities within the Design Technology department.
• Promote a culture of innovation and creativity in the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge.
• At least 3 years’ experience of the National Curriculum for England.
• Experience teaching Design Technology up to A-Level.
• A proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching.
• A mindset that believes all students can achieve top performance.

Preferred

• Experience contributing to an enriched curriculum programme.
• Leadership experience in a school or college setting.
• Experience with international education standards and practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
