As the Head of Drama, you will lead a thriving department and inspire students with a passion for the performing arts. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the drama department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and deliver a dynamic and inclusive drama curriculum, including GCSE and A-level courses.
  • Supervise and support departmental staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development.
  • Organise and lead high-quality drama productions and performances, enhancing the school’s co-curricular offering.
  • Promote the value of drama in personal development and student enrichment.
  • Work closely with other departments to integrate drama into the wider school experience.
  • Ensure the department meets and exceeds academic and performance outcomes.
  • Support and champion the school’s vision and values, including inclusion and personal best.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in drama education at all key stages.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school department.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for drama.
  • Ability to teach GCSE and A-level Drama.
  • Commitment to inclusion, student wellbeing, and personal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading successful drama productions and performances.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Background in extra-curricular and enrichment activities.
  • Experience in a school with a strong co-curricular programme.
