The Opportunity:

As the Head of French Bilingualism, you will lead the development and implementation of a dynamic French bilingual programme that supports students in becoming globally minded, multilingual learners. This role is ideal for an experienced educator passionate about language education and international learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the French bilingual curriculum, ensuring alignment with international standards and the school’s educational philosophy.
  • Lead a team of teachers, providing professional development and support to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate French language instruction across the curriculum and promote cross-cultural understanding.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring the programme meets academic and linguistic goals.
  • Represent the school at events, conferences, and parent meetings, promoting the French bilingual stream and its benefits.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to ensure seamless integration of the programme with other school initiatives.
  • Support the school’s mission of fostering global citizenship and academic excellence through innovative teaching practices.
  • Ensure compliance with IB and Swiss Baccalaureate standards and maintain the school’s high academic reputation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an international or bilingual educational setting.
  • Advanced proficiency in French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching or leading language programmes at the primary or secondary level.
  • Strong understanding of the IB and Swiss Baccalaureate curricula and assessment frameworks.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing bilingual education programmes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.

Preferred

  • Experience with multilingual education and international school environments.
  • Familiarity with the Nord Anglia Education framework and its global initiatives.
  • Knowledge of STEAM education and its integration into bilingual learning environments.
  • Experience in teacher training and professional development.
