The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the school’s values and educational goals.
- Support and mentor Geography staff to enhance teaching standards and student outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate Geography into cross-curricular initiatives.
- Promote extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities in Geography.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and the wider school community.
- Ensure the department adheres to all school policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting, ideally as a Head of Department.
- Strong subject knowledge in Geography, including experience delivering A-Level qualifications.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and develop a team of teachers effectively.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and research-based practice.
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a focus on Sport and Business Enterprise.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and curriculum development.
- Experience in leading departmental initiatives that support student achievement and engagement.
