The Opportunity:

As the Head of Innovation and Design Technology, you will lead the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices and technology integration across the school. This role is pivotal in shaping a forward-thinking educational environment that empowers students to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead a vision for innovation and design technology that aligns with the school’s mission and curriculum.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate technology into lesson planning and delivery.
• Support the implementation of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and other curricula through innovative teaching methods.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of technology on student learning outcomes.
• Provide professional development and coaching for staff in emerging technologies and pedagogical strategies.
• Ensure alignment with ADEK and UAE Ministry of Education regulations.
• Manage and lead the design technology department, including curriculum planning and resource allocation.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
• Proven experience in teaching across a range of abilities, including IB and I/GCSE qualifications.
• Experience working in multiple international schools.
• Strong understanding of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations.
• Commitment to the school’s vision and the IB Philosophy and Mission Statement.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage challenging situations.
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
• Valid police or Disclosure and Barring Services check.

Preferred

• Experience in leading innovation initiatives in education.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Familiarity with design technology and related fields.
• Experience with curriculum development and review.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
