The Opportunity:

Join a school seeking a Head of Innovation and Design Technology to lead and inspire a forward-thinking learning environment. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of education through innovative teaching and technology integration, impacting student outcomes and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Innovation and Design Technology department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement in design and technology.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate innovative practices and technologies into the curriculum.
• Support and mentor staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress through assessment and data analysis to inform planning and instruction.
• Ensure alignment with the school’s vision, IB philosophy, and UAE educational regulations.
• Participate in curriculum development, including the creation and review of schemes of work and learning resources.
• Contribute to the school’s CAS Programme by leading or supporting after-school activities.
• Undertake academic mentoring and supervision of extended essay projects for IB students.
• Fulfill administrative and operational duties, including examination invigilation and staff coverage.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
• Proven experience as a very good or outstanding teacher across a range of ability levels.
• Experience teaching in multiple international schools, including IB and I/GCSE programs.
• Knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations.
• Commitment to the school’s vision and IB Philosophy and Mission Statement.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
• Valid police or enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check.

Preferred

• Experience in leadership or senior management roles within education.
• Demonstrated success in curriculum development and innovation.
• Familiarity with digital tools and technologies to enhance learning.
• Experience with student support programs for SEN, EAL, and G&T students.
