Head of Islamic Faculty required for August 2026 at a leading British curriculum school.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Islamic Faculty, you will lead and inspire the Islamic department and support the development of students across the Secondary School. This role is ideal for a passionate and visionary educator who is dedicated to fostering academic and personal growth in a dynamic, forward-thinking school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Islamic Faculty, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a vision for Islamic education aligned with the school's mission and values.
  • Support and mentor staff within the faculty, promoting professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment with school-wide strategies and goals.
  • Oversee the curriculum and assessment processes for Islamic studies, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • Encourage student engagement and achievement through innovative teaching methods and pastoral support.
  • Collaborate with other departments to contribute to the broader curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students within the faculty.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree and a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in teaching Islamic studies or related subjects.
  • A proven track record in leadership and management within an educational setting.
  • Strong commitment to student wellbeing, pastoral care, and safeguarding.
  • Ability to teach Islamic studies through to A level, and other science subjects to KS3 and/or KS4.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to inform teaching and support student learning.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a faculty or department within a British curriculum school.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Familiarity with international education systems and cross-cultural environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
