The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Learning to lead and inspire academic excellence. This role is central to shaping a high-quality learning experience and driving student success across all key stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the academic development of students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies aligned with current educational research and best practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and impactful curriculum that supports student progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance, providing targeted support to ensure all learners reach their full potential.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development among teaching staff.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school's vision and strategic objectives.
  • Engage with parents and carers to build strong partnerships that support student learning and well-being.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school's commitment to social justice and excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Proven track record of successful outcomes and effective planning.
  • Strong knowledge of teaching and learning research and practice.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to student achievement.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership or management role within education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
  • Experience with teaching English as a second language or supporting diverse student needs.
