Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics and Computing Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and challenging GCSE and A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics courses.
  • Support the teaching of Computer Science, where applicable, and contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted support to enhance academic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to promote a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Contribute to departmental and school-wide initiatives, including curriculum development and staff training.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Ensure the department meets all academic and pastoral standards, in line with the school’s values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching GCSE and A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in leading a department.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of inclusivity, diversity, and student well-being.
  • Ability to contribute to a vibrant co-curricular programme.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Computer Science.
  • Experience in a school setting with a strong emphasis on pastoral care and student development.
  • A track record of achieving high academic results and student satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
