The Opportunity:

As Head of Maths and Computing, you will lead and inspire a passionate team dedicated to delivering high-quality education in Mathematics and Computing. This role is pivotal in shaping the curriculum and ensuring student success from year 7 to year 13.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics and Computing department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a robust and innovative curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Provide professional development and support for departmental staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement in academic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to the strategic development of the school.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, safeguarding, and equality across the department.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to support student learning and achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safeguarding and equality policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics at all key stages, from year 7 to year 13.
  • Previous leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Familiarity with computing and ICT integration in education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Knowledge of the UNICEF Convention on the Rights of the Child and its application in education.
