The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics Department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement the Mathematics curriculum, aligning with academic standards and student needs.
  • Oversee departmental resources, budget, and assessments, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Support and mentor Mathematics staff, promoting professional development and collaboration.
  • Coordinate co-curricular activities, including enrichment programs and extracurricular events.
  • Work closely with Form Tutors and pastoral teams to support student well-being and academic progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate student performance, ensuring consistent improvement and exam success.
  • Contribute to the broader academic and cultural life of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong graduate degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching Mathematics across all age groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in departmental leadership.
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student success.
  • Willingness to take on the role of a Form Tutor.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or teaching in both maintained and independent sectors.
  • Familiarity with co-curricular activities and enrichment programs.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
