The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Mathematics to lead a thriving department and inspire the next generation of mathematicians. This role offers the opportunity to shape curriculum development and drive academic excellence in a forward-thinking institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Mathematics department, including curriculum planning and delivery.
- Support and develop teaching staff through mentorship, training, and professional development.
- Oversee the delivery of A Level and Further Mathematics courses to high-achieving students.
- Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusion within the department.
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement curriculum reform initiatives.
- Ensure the department meets academic targets and supports student progression to top universities.
- Manage and develop enrichment opportunities, including extracurricular mathematics activities.
- Work closely with the Second and Third in the Department to share line management responsibilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and A Level curriculum.
- Experience in managing a department of teachers and leading academic strategy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum reform or innovative teaching methods.
- Background in further education or higher education.
- Familiarity with teaching Further Mathematics at A Level.
- Experience in leading or supporting student enrichment programs.
