The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Head of Music to lead and enhance the provision of Music across Key Stage 3 and 4. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Music education within a school that values creativity, faith, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Music curriculum across Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Music to a range of students.
  • Support and mentor other Music teachers within the department.
  • Promote the school's Christian ethos through Music provision and extra-curricular activities.
  • Manage and oversee the development of Music extra-curricular programs and events.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership to enhance the overall student experience.
  • Ensure the Music department meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the school's mission of fostering a caring and inclusive community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Music education.
  • Strong leadership and subject knowledge in Music.
  • Experience in leading a department or subject area.
  • Commitment to the Christian ethos of the school.
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching and learning strategies.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading curriculum development.
  • Experience with extra-curricular Music programs.
  • Experience in working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Experience in pastoral or community-based initiatives.
